# Installation

PimiDocs is a free plugin and installs like any other: upload the ZIP, activate, done. Public download is coming soon — until then the plugin is running in production on the w4dev sites while the release is finalised.

## Requirements

- WordPress 6.0 or newer (block templates need 6.7+; classic themes are fully supported on 6.0)
- PHP 8.0 or newer

## Install the plugin

1. Download the latest `pimidocs-x.y.z.zip` from w4dev.com.
2. In your WordPress admin, go to **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin** and choose the ZIP.
3. Click **Install Now**, then **Activate**.

Activation creates the **Docs** menu in your admin sidebar and registers the documentation post type. Nothing is written to your public site until you publish a doc.

## With WP-CLI

```
wp plugin install pimidocs-x.y.z.zip --activate
```

## Next steps

Pick a mode and base path under **Docs → Settings**. If you are moving from weDocs or BetterDocs, read the migration guide before writing anything by hand — the importer preserves your content and its URLs. Updates arrive through the WordPress Plugins screen automatically, served from the w4dev.com plugin repository.
